Captain Lord John FitzGerald (born 3 March 1952) is a British soldier and member of the Kildare branch of the FitzGerald dynasty. He was educated at Millfield and studied at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. FitzGerald is a Captain in the 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards and horse trainer by profession.[1]
He is the youngest of two sons of Gerald FitzGerald, 8th Duke of Leinster[2] who married on 12 June 1946 Anne Smith (born 6 May 1922) second daughter of Lt Col Philip Eustace Smith MC, of Rothley Crag, Cambo, Morpeth, Northumberland. He is heir presumptive to his elder brother Maurice FitzGerald, 9th Duke of Leinster.
He married Barbara Zindel, daughter of Andreas Zindel, of St. Moritz, Switzerland, on 11 December 1982; they have two children:
